I have to agree with you. I did a free ebook promo with a similar service. The audience was targeted to my likely reader. There were 317 downloads in a 48 hr period. It’s been three weeks, and not a single page read. Within 2 hours of the promotion ending, the ebook was buried on Amazon.

I want to give WWM a try because they have promos where the book doesn’t need to be free.

You’ve convinced me to try a FREE book promotion. I have a four-book award-winning series that needs a jump start.

I come from a marketing background and have used FREE to initiate interest and increase sales throughout many industries. However, when it comes to books, it’s just not the same. Readers have immense TBR lists and pile up free books. I’ve done many FREE promos (one with BookBub, which reached downloads of 49K+). Reads and KENP remained as steady as before the promo and it’s been four months. This seems to be the case even with Written Word FREE Booksy promos. Decent download numbers but no increase in reads…until the reader makes their way down to my book(s) on the TBR list. That could be next week or next year or never. If I could get the emails of the people who downloaded my books, that would be a different story because I’d be able to connect with them. Free book promos don’t allow that, so I’m stuck with my fingers crossed and a lot of nothing in my wallet. If you have any advice, I’ll take it.
